“SustainParks” is an independent consulting company that deals with research and development regarding spatial planning in nature parks and other protected areas. Its different activities use dynamic-innovation approaches to address the integration of conservation and development functions in protected areas. Informed by environmental, socio-economic, and governance projects, the challenge is to seek emerging conservation needs, partner with other stakeholders collectively, and co-create capacities that support strategic planning, conflict resolution, and evidence-based decision-making in protected areas.
In so doing, SustainParks supports community actors, local and civil society organisations, including designated officials, as well as local corporate communities, to incorporate ecosystem-based thinking and policy-mix into the management goals of protected areas.
The findings from SustainParks projects will be made available to public and private stakeholders, civil society, academic institutions, including all those interested in themes related to protected areas.
SustainParks is a non-partisan platform that provides objective reviews to support meaningful decisions about protected areas, in union with community and government ideas. The company is registered under Danish laws, with an office in Denmark.
