The multifunctional character of protected areas requires supplementary analyses and policies, and SustainParks will:

• Encourage empirical and field-based research with experts from diverse fields to foster future-oriented policies that manage protected areas for the benefit of all.
• Develop policy recommendations that ensure the engagement of institutions and communities in nature protection
• Promote partnerships that co-create indicators and build scenarios for defined policy objectives in protected areas
• Provide out-of-the-box protected area feedbacks through partnership activities.
